Amitabh Bachchan reveals ‘Shamitabh’ secrets

Not long time back, Amitabh Bachchan created a buzz in the industry when he revealed his unusual look for his upcoming film ‘Shamitabh’. Some say that the look is similar to the one he put on for 1986 film ‘Aakhree Raasta’. He is seen sporting a rugged look and wearing shabby clothes which he found quite difficult to preserve throughout the shooting of the film. For all AB fans, you must take a look!

It seems that all the jitters created by him weren’t enough for the legendary actor. As he only recently revealed the looks of his two co-stars in the film, Dhanush and Akshara. Posting a picture from the film, he tweeted, “Shamitabh … with Dhanush and Akshara .. !!”. While Amitabh and Dhanush are seen wearing shades, Akshara looks extremely casual yet chic in a light colored sleeveless dress.

Dhanush, as we all know, made his debut with the Bollywood flick ‘Raanjhana’, and even bagged many award for his outstanding acting skills. The ‘Kolavery D’ singer-actor is all set to burn the screen once again with ‘Shamitabh’. After pairing up with Shruti Haasan in '3', Dhanush is romancing Kamal Haasan's younger daughter Akshara Haasan in the film. The film is Akshara’s debut film and has Dhanush playing the role of a deaf and mute person in it. It has been revealed that Amitabh Bachchan lent his voice to Dhanush, in the movie.

The film that bears a striking similarity with the Shahanshah’s first name is directed by R Balki of ‘Paa’ fame. It was also revealed that the film had its name derived from the duo’s names in which 'Sh' from Dhanush was added as a prefix to Amitabh, therefore becoming ‘Shamitabh’.

Ilaiyaraaja has composed the soundtrack and background score, while cinematography was handled by PC Sreeram. The film is expected to hit the theatres on February 6th, next year.

The Bollywood lifers can surely wait no more for the enticing trio to hit the screens.

In August 2013, reports announced that Shahrukh Khan would play the lead role in the film. But Balki denied them as rumors citing that they may have arisen when he had shot for an advertisement featuring Shahrukh Khan. In November 2013, the director confirmed the cast for the much-awaited film.

Amitabh Bachchan described every film he made with Balki as "novel, out of the ordinary and most challenging" and Shamitabh is "no different".
