Amitabh Bachchan gets nostalgic about Amjad Khan at his son’s book launch


Megastar Amitabh Bachchan recalled his days and friendship with Amjad Khan while launching the crime thriller ‘Murder In Bollywood’ written by the late actor’s son Shadaab Khan.

Speaking about the author’s father, Big B said, “Amjad bhai and me were great friends and colleagues together in several films and we had a special relationship. My presence here is because of that relationship.”

Amitabh who worked with Amjad in films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Laawaris’, ‘Yaarana’ and others, asked Shadaab in a light-hearted manner to leave books and follow the family legacy and join the film industry. Both Amjad and his father Jayant were actors.

However, Big B was nonetheless impressed by Shadaab’s flair for writing. "I never knew you had this passion for writing and I'm really eager to look forward to reading your book.”the actor said and wish Shadaab many more books.

The author also thanked Amitabh for “graciously agreeing” to launch his book. Amjad’s widow Shehla Khan and Shadaab's wife Rumana were also present at the launch ceremony on July 14.

Amitabh is himself known to be proficient with his language in both Hindi and English, but when asked if he had plans to turn a writer, he said, "I am not capable enough of writing a book."  

About giving permission to write a biography on him, the actor said the prospective writers will not find anything about him, but added if they want to write then they can go ahead.”
