Amit Sadh flaunts six-pack for ‘Akira’


Actor Amit Sadh of ‘Kai Po Che!’ fame, who is working on two big projects, underwent rigorous physical exercises and weight training to fit for the respective roles for the films.

The actor, who is a part of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s upcoming film ‘Yaara’, was required to put on 22 kgs for the film.

The actor said, “I weighed almost 75 kgs initially after which I lost 7 kgs for Tigmanshu sir’s film. I then gained 22 kgs for the second half of the film where my character was 90 years old.”  

‘Yaara’ is an official remake of the 2011 French film ‘Les Lyonnais’.

Amit, who began his acting career with television dramas, is also cast in AR Murgadoss’s film ‘Akira’ starring Sonakshi Sinha and Konkona Sen Sharma in lead roles. This film is also a remake version of Tamil film ‘Mouna Guru’ of 2011.

Amit’s role in ‘Akira’ demanded a fitter look and he had to sport a six-pack for the film. The actor, who had already gained so much weight for his role in ‘Yaara’, said it was difficult to shed all the extra pounds immediately.

Amit is known to take his work seriously and indulged in hard core training to get back to shape.

“It was difficult as I had only a few months to pull this off. The entire process was way too quick, which also resulted in some doctor visits to keep a check on my health. But I am happy I achieved it,” he said.

Amit will next be seen in Subhash Kapoor directorial ‘Guddu Rangeela’ The film also casts Arshad Warsi, Ronit Roy and Aditi Rao Hydari.

The film is scheduled to release on July 2.
