Amal Clooney-Geroge welcomes twins, names Ella and Alexander

Amal Clooney and her husband George were blessed with twins, a boy and a girl. The twins were named Ella and Alexander.

"This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine," publicist Stan Rosenfield said in an email.

He added cheekily, "George is sedated and should recover in a few days."

A source close to the couple’s family tells PEOPLE, “This is very good news. We’re very, very happy. George is going to be a great father of twins.”

Earlier this year it was reported that Alam Clooney was expecting twins- a boy and a girl.

In February, Mr Clooney mentioned that for the safety of their twins, they won’t be visiting few places. "We decided to be much more responsible, to avoid the danger. I will not go to South Sudan anymore and in the Congo, Amal will no longer go to Iraq and she will avoid places where she knows she is not welcome," the actor told E! Online.

Amal maintained a low profile though her pregnancy phase and hardly she spotted in public. George Clooney recently cancelled his trip to Armenia for a humanitarian event. He wrote a message to organizers saying "if I came there and my wife had twins while I was there, I could never come home."

George Clooney and Amal got hitched on September 27, 2014 in Italy. Their wedding was a lavish but private affair held in a luxury Italian resort.

Heartiest congratulations to George Clooney and Amal Clooney!
