Alia, Varun rock the stage at closing of Kala Ghoda Festival
Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan are currently on a promotional spree for their upcoming film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. They actors also performed at closing of the multicultural Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in Mumbai on Sunday.
Alia and Varun brought the roof down as the danced to the songs of the movie to a cheering crowd at the Asiatic Society Library. The duo matched their steps to the title song and also ‘Tamma Tamma Again’, a recreated version of the popular song from 1990 film ‘Thanedaar’. They also made the audience sing along and sway with them.
Alia attended the open festival for the first time, while Varun said it was his fourth time. “I enjoy the music and food each time I?come here,” the ‘Dishoom’ actor was quoted by Hindustan Times.
The actors are leaving no stone unturned to generate a buzz around the film. They also promoted the film on the ongoing season of popular chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’ on Sunday night.
Varun also shared a video by singer-composer Bappi Lahiri, singer of the original ‘Tamma Tamma Loge’, wishing luck to the actors and the film. He also sang it and said, ‘old is gold’. “Baaaapi da in the house. The voice the master music director the man behind #tammatammaagain. Thank you for love honoured to have performed a song by you sir,” Varun captioned the video.
They also shared videos with Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt, who featured in the original song. Madhuri had also taught them the hook step of the song.
‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ is the sequel of Alia and Varun’s 2014 romantic comedy ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. Both of them started their career together with Karan Johar’s directorial ‘Student of the Year’, and the upcoming film is their third collaboration together.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by KJo’s Dharma Productions, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ is slated to release on the Holi weekend on March 10.
