Alia Bhatt to romance Sushant Singh in Homi Adajania's next

The latest buzz in Bollywood is that the actress of the moment, Alia Bhatt, is going to feature in a film along with the actor who has been receiving a lot of accolades, Sushant Singh Rajput. According to sources, filmmaker Homi Adajania is keen on casting Tinsel Town’s current darlings in a movie that is believed to be produced by Iluminati Films.

The source claims, ““This is a fresh pairing. Alia and Sushant have not worked with each other so far, but both have shown a lot of promise in their recent films. They have now been signed on to star in Homi Adajania’s next film.”

Alia and Sushant have both been incredibly successful thus far. Alia’s debut film ‘Student of the Year’ was a runaway success at the box office. She reinforced her credentials with a convincing performance in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Highway’. Her status as a rising actress was further cemented with this year’s performance in the romantic comedy based on Chetan Bhagat’s book, 2 States.

Sushant, who started his career in television serials, stole the limelight with his award-winning performance as Ishant Sharma in another movie based on a book by Chetan Bhagat, ‘Kai Po Che’!  He backed this up with another hit movie, ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’.

Considering their growing popularity, the pairing would be considered a casting coup. Trade analysts are watching this development with interest. “After 2 States, Alia has proved that she can exert a box-office pull. With this casting, she has now been paired with almost all young stars except Ranveer Singh and Aditya Roy Kapur," commented trade analyst Amod Mehra.

Both Alia Bhatt and Sushant Singh Rajput remained unavailable for comment. The young stars are busy with their upcoming films. Alia Bhatt will be seen in a Vikas Bahl film called ‘Shaandar’. She has been cast opposite Shahid Kapoor in this film. She has also signed Ayan Mukherji’s next film, starring Bollywood heartthrob, Ranbir Kapoor.

Sushant Singh Rajput has a number of films under his belt. His film ‘PK’, which is a Rajkumar Hirani production, is in the post production phase. Even before its release, ‘PK’ has aroused a lot of interest and is much anticipated. Sushant is also shooting for Dipakar Banerjee’s film ‘Detectice Byomkesh Bakshi’; whose filming is almost complete. He has also been cast in Shekar Kapur’s much awaited film ‘Paani’, which will commence shooting in December.
