Alia Bhatt opts out of Homi Adajania’s ‘Raabta’

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who is keeping a busy schedule with about four films in her hands, has decided to opt out of director Homi Adajania’s upcoming project titled ‘Raabta’ opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.

The ‘Highway’ actress, who has her hands full with films like Vikas Behl’s ‘Shaandaar’, Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’, both co-starring Shahid Kapoor, Shakun Batra’s ‘Kapoor And Sons’ co-starring rumoured beau Sidharth Malhotra and Karan Johar’s ‘Shuddhi’ with Varun Dhawan, doesn’t want to do any more love stories for the time being.

Alia has cited date issues as the reason for quitting the movie. She has decided to go ahead with ‘Shuddhi’ which is her mentor Karan Johar’s production and will reunite her with her ‘Student of the Year’ and ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ co-star Varun Dhawan, according to a report published in a national daily.

It is also reported that Homi, who has directed films like ‘cocktail’ and ‘Finding Fanny’, had written the script with Alia in mind.

Following the Bhatt girl’s exit, the filmmakers are hunting for a fresh face to cast opposite Sushant, who would still be working for the movie.

‘Raabta’ has been scheduled to release in early 2016 and Homi will be co-directing the film with producer Dinesh Vijan.

‘Raabta’ is an intense love story and is said to be spanning two different eras.
