Ali Zafar scouting for lead actress for his upcoming film ‘Deosai’

Pakistani heart-throb Ali Zafar who recently announced his venture into filmmaking with his upcoming production ‘Deosai’ is on the look-out for a suitable lead actress for the action thriller.

The singer and actor has appeared in a few Bollywood films like Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan starrer ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’, ‘London Paris New York’ opposite Aditi Rao Hydari  and ‘Chashme Baddoor’ by David Dhawan. He starting out in Bollywood with the satirical film ‘Tere Bin Laden’ and was recently seen in ‘Kill Dil’ along with Ranveer Singh, Govinda and Pareeniti Chopra.

The actor, who announced his upcoming project as producer on his Birthday on May 18, expressed his desire to incorporate his Bollywood experience and make a film with a universal appeal. 

Ali aims to revive Pakistani cinema with his production. Having worked in Bollywood, Ali had thought of giving better recognition to Pakistani films. “The revival of local cinema will help in economic growth,” said Ali, who waited for the right time to start his film.

“Right content relevant for the local population is important to make a successful film and I am happy with the way ‘Deosai’ has shaped up,” the actor added. The film will deal with intricacies of relationships.

‘Deosai’ will be directed by prominent Pakistani director Imran Babur who has directed short films such as ‘Kashmir Without Shephard’ and ‘Toba Tek Singh’. The director said the plot of the film was interesting and will offer him immense scope for creativity. Imran liked the concept of ‘Deosai’.

Deosai is a place in northern Pakistan, which is famous for its unexplored mountainous terrains. The film titled after the name of the place, will be shot in real location to get an authentic feel and capture the scenic beauty of the place.

The film will start rolling soon and is scheduled to release in theatres internationally by the mid of 2016.
