Akshay to judge The Great Indian Laughter Challenge; shares promo

Recently, rumours were rife that Akshay Kumar might replace Salman Khan for reality show ‘Bigg Boss 11’. But turns out that the Khiladi Kumar will be bringing a fresh season of the popular ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’, where he will be the super judge.

The ‘Rustom’ actor shared a promo video of the show on his twitter page and captioned it, “?Kya aapki comic timing perfect hai? Mujhe talaash hai aapke jaise best stand up comedian ki. #TheGreatIndianLaughterChallenge @StarPlus.”

The video shows some serious moments when some people insist on telling a joke, as Akshay’s voice in the background tells them not every moment and every place is perfect to share a joke. He then invites applications for the audition for the show.

The popular comedy show is set to return on Star Plus in August and will take the weekend slot. However, the exact date is yet to be announced.

Akshay has previously hosted first two seasons of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and dance reality show ‘Dare 2 Dance’, and had been a judge on the maiden season of Masterchef India.

Akshay is known for doing high-octane action scenes and is equally great as making audience laugh with his impeccable coming timing. His hit comedies like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’, ‘Welcome’, ‘Housefull’, among many others are proof of his comic prowess. Akshay will make for a great judge on the show and the audience will surely be holding their tummies during the show.

‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ premiered on erstwhile Star One 10 years ago and has given us popular stand-up comedians like Kapil Sharma, Raju Srivastava, Ahsaan Qureshi, Bharti Singh among others.
