Toilet Ek Prem Katha: Akshay pursues ladylove Bhumi in ‘Has Mat Pagli’ song

The first song titled ‘Has Mat Pagli’ from Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer film ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ was unveiled today morning. Akshay took to his Twitter handle to share the song by writing, “Keshav aur Jaya ki unique love story ka first song, #HansMatPagli out now.”

It is a romantic number in the melodious vocals of Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. It has been composed by Vickey Prasad with lyrics penned by Siddharth-Garima.

The video features Akshay’s character Keshav head-over-heels in love with Bhumi’s Jaya. But he is unable to confess his love and keeps following her and clicking her pictures with his mobile-phone camera. But till the end of the song, he isn’t able to say a word to her. Bhumi is seen as a college student, and the song also shows Divyendu Sharma as Akshay’s friend.

Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ is said to be a comedy-satire inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cleaniness campaign ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ and based on a true incident. The movie will see Bhumi in her second film after a gap of one and half years. She was last seen in critically acclaimed 2015 film ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ opposite Ayushmann Khurana.

The trailer of the film released earlier this month saw Akshay and Bhumi’s characters falling in love and eventually getting married. Problem begins when Bhumi raises her concern over the absence of a toilet in their house. That propels Akshay to take charge and he meets officials to get a toilet made in his neighbourhood. There were also some glimpses of Akshay arguing with people of his town and urging them to get rid of their parochial mindset.

Also starring Anupam Kher, Rajesh Sharma and Sana Khan, ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ is scheduled to hit screens ahead of Independence Day on August 11.
