Akshay Kumar’s ‘Airlift’ mints in Rs 42.36 cr on day 2


The box-office collection of Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Airlift’ is soaring with every passing day. The movie has not only received positive reviews from critics but audience is also showering huge love on the film. The film earned Rs 12 crore on the opening day and it minted Rs 14.60 crore on day 2. The overseas collection was also very promising. Adding the foreign trade, the film has made a total of 42.36 cr in the second day which is highly impressive.

Akshay Kumar thanked his fans for being so supportive. “I don’t know how to thank you all for every ounce of all your love and support for #Airlift, feeling extremely humbled,” Akshay tweeted on Sunday.

On Sunday, ‘Airlift’ is expected to show a great jump. The movie will become the highest opening day collections of 2016 at the Indian Box Office. Sex-comedy ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3’ also released on the same day but viewers are opting for ‘Airlift’.

‘Kya Kool Hain Hum 3’ features an ensemble cast featuring Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasini and Mandana Karimi. In many parts of India, ‘Airlift’ also saw advance booking.

On looking at the audience response, it is highly expected that ‘Airlift’ will dominate the weekend. With Republic Day round the corner, ‘Airlift’ is sure to gain some profit. 

‘Airlift’, directed by Raja Krishna Menon, is based on the biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war. The film features Akshay and Nimrat Kaur in the lead roles, while Feryna Wazheir, Purab Kohli, Lena, Kumud Mishra and Prakash Belawadi are playing the supporting characters.
