Akshay Kumar shares ‘Padman’ poster

Akshay Kumar unveiled the poster of his upcoming film, ‘Padman’. Sharing the poster, Akshay wrote#“Not all superheroes come with capes! Bringing you the true story of a real superhero, #Padman this Republic Day – 26th January, 2018!”

In his tweet, he also announced the release date of ‘Padman’.

‘Padman’ produced by Twinkle Khanna is based on the real life story of Arunachalam Muruganatham, the man who found a cheap and affordable sanitary napkins for women in his village thereby  helping the improvement of sanitation facilities especially for women during menstruation.

Akshay’s wife and author Twinkle Khanna is also a producer on the film. In an interview to PTI in August, Twinkle had said, “Twinkle says they will be taking some creative liberties to make the film entertaining. When I wrote the book The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad (her book), I fictionalised it. So while making the film also we will be taking some creative liberties. We want to give a message but we want to make it entertaining, otherwise it won’t be interesting to watch. We are working towards it.”

The real life Padman Arunachalam Muruganantham had revealed that Akshay's film is a fictionalized biopic. He had said, "They have taken the core of my story and set it in fiction, taking many instances and references from my experiences. It is not a quintessential biography, like Gandhi."

Directed by R Balki and produced by Twinkle Khanna, the film also features Sonam Kapoor, Radhika Apte.
