Akshay Kumar rushes to Delhi to meet PM Modi

Akshay Kumar left for New Delhi to meet prime minister Narendra Modi. the reason if Akshay’s upcoming film, ‘Padman’, which was earlier scheduled to release on January 26 but pushed behind for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’. Akshay will screen ‘Padman’ for PM Modi and spend about three hours with him.

Akshay is very excited about this visit. A source says, "It's an honour for the movie, its makers and the cast that Modi has expressed interest in seeing what the film has all about."

The film deals with mensural hygiene which is related to Modiji’s ‘swach bharat campaign’.

This is not the first time Akshay is bonding with Narendra Modi over any film. When his last movie, ‘Toilet-Ek Prem Katha’, released, the action hero screened the film for Modiji and received huge accolades from him.

Applauding Akshay for making film on sanitary issue and encouraging the people of the country, the PM wrote# "Good effort to further the message of cleanliness. 125 crore Indians have to continue working together to create a Swachh Bharat," Modi tweeted to Akshay.

'Padman' directed by R Balki stars Akshay Kumar Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in the main lead. The film will hit screens on February 9.
