Akshay Kumar opens up on his alleged fall-out with Priyanka Chopra
Akshay Kumar is currently on a promotional spree, visiting television shows for his upcoming film ‘Jolly LLB 2’. The movie features a Holi celebration song – ‘Go Pagal’, which has brought back memories of the hit Holi track ‘Do me a favour let’s play Holi’ featuring Akshay and Priyanka Chopra from the film ‘Waqt’. The hit on-screen pair, who have given hits like ‘Aitraaz’, ‘Andaaz’ and ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’, haven’t come together for a film for over a decade, and it is blamed on their failed love affair and subsequent fall-out.
However, Akshay has maintained that he has no issues working with Priyanka. Speaking on the show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, the ‘Rustom’ actor handled some tricky questions in his inimitable witty style.
When Akshay was quizzed about his alleged fall-out with the ‘Jai Gangaajal’ actress, he said, “There is nothing like that. I have worked on five films with Priyanka. It’s not like I don’t want to work with her. Except for Rani Mukerji, I have worked with every heroine. If there is an opportunity, I will surely work with Priyanka Chopra.”
Akshay also rubbished rumours about having issues with producer Ekta Kapoor and choreographer-director Farah Khan. He said, “Let us call Priyanka Chopra, Ekta Kapoor and Farah Khan and check if they have any issue with me. That way you will know for sure.”
Akshay had also recently, praised Priyanka for her Hollywood success and being two-time winner of the People’s Choice Award. He had said, “She deserves it. She has done a good job. She is making us proud.”
Meanwhile, courtroom drama ‘Jolly LLB 2’ has reached the court for real. The Supreme Court will hear today a petition by the film’s producer against the Bombay High Court order of reviewing the film to see if it has portrayed the Indian judicial system in a bad light.
The movie, starring Huma Qureshi, Anu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla, and directed by Subhash Kapoor is slated to release on February 10.
