Akshay Kumar launches Kiara-Mustafa’s recreated song ‘Tu Cheez Badi…’

Almost every commercial Bollywood film now-a-days has a recreated version of an old chartbuster, and the latest is ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast’ from Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon-starrer 1994 film ‘Mohra’.

The song has been recreated for upcoming film ‘Machine’, which marks the Bollywood debut of Mustafa Burmawala, son of filmmaker Abbas, of the popular Abbas-Mustan duo who has also directed the movie. Akshay launched the song at an event on Monday (March 6), in presence of the lead pair, and the director-duo among others.

Akshay also danced to the song, along with Kiara and Mustafa. He shared a video of him shaking a leg to the track on Twitter and captioned it, “Still got those mast mast moves What say? #TuCheezBadiHaiMastMast.”

While the original song was composed by Viju Shah, it has been recreated by Komail-Shivaan. The new version has retained vocals of Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurthy from the original track.

Earlier, an 18-second-long teaser of the new version was released which shows shows Kiara and Mustafa grooving to the reinvented track. The set for the track is lit with chandeliers and flames and the actors’ chemistry is also sizzling. However, Akshay and Raveena’s original song is way difficult to forget.

Talking about the recreated version, Kiara told PTI, “It is very different from the original. We don’t even want to touch that because it is iconic. It is impossible to recreate that but this is our version of the song. It’s like our tribute, from kids who grew up in the ’90s. I am waiting for it to come out and see the response. Comparison is inevitable, I know there will be. But as of now I am just waiting for the song to be out.”

‘Machine’ revolves around racing enthusiasts and is slated to release on March 17.
