Akshay Kumar donates Rs 5 lakh to acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal

Akshay Kumar possesses a heart of gold. He always comes forward to help those who are in urgent need. The action hero lately landed a helping hand to acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, who is struggling to find a job to support her family.

Braveheart Laxmi spoke about how she was struggling to make both ends meet with a low income as an activist. She revealed that for the last one year she has been trying to find a job in call centers but she failed. On hearing her, Akshay Kumar immediately jumped to her help and directly transferred five lakh rupees to Laxmi’s account.

In an interview to Hindustan Times, he said, "My contribution is a very small gesture. I am embarrassed to even mention it. The idea is that Laxmi should be able to search for a job with dignity, without having to worry about paying house rent or stressing about not being able to provide a nutritious meal to her baby. I wish people realise that when a person is in need of livelihood, medals, awards and certificates don't pay the bills. It's important to support through practical means."

Laxmi Agarwal thanked Akshay Kumar for his generosity.

However, Laxmi’s trouble got deeper after her live-in partner Alok Dixit left her with whom she has an infant daughter.

Ever since the news of Laxmi’s struggle went viral, she has reportedly been flooded with job offers and financial aid.
