Akshay and Imran Talks About Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Again

Akshay Kumar is gearing up for his next release, ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Again’. Although the story has been inspired by real life incidents, the story remains fictional. Akshay Kumar was heard telling the reporters, “I am not playing a real-life character. There are some areas where we have taken some real incidents from different places and put them together and the rest of the story is fictional.”

‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Again’ is a sequel to the first part, ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’. The movie is a continuation from where the first movie ended. ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’ starred Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Prachi Desai. The film did very well at the box office and the team won a lot of accolades for their performance.

The Khiladi was heard quipping that, “Only faces have changed. The story begins from where it had ended." Imran Khan added, “It is a fictional story and as Akshay said incidents are picked up, modified and used here. But it is not a historical film.”

Sonakshi Sinha plays the love interest of the two gangsters and the movie is based on the gang wars of the era of the 80s. It shows the evolution of the Mumbai underworld, from crime and smuggling to its connection with International terrorism in recent times. While Sonakshi will be seen in her traditional Indian look, Imran Khan will be sporting a slightly macho avatar with a new hairstyle. Akshay Kumar manages to pull off the don look to the hilt. In a coat, unbuttoned shirt and sunglasses, Akshay looks spectacular in this role.

Akshay Kumar has been on a high with his last release, ‘Special 26’ doing so well at the box office. Imran Khan’s last outing was ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ with Anushka Sharma. Sonakshi Sinha was last seen on the big screen in ‘Dabanng 2’ with Salman Khan. Sonali Bendre makes her big screen comeback with this film. The team stepped out together for the first time to promote their film, during the first match of the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League.

This is a film directed by Milan Luthria. The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms. The film is slated to release on 8th August 2013.
