Akshara Haasan to play Sridevi’s step-daughter

Akshara Haasan, daughter of noted actor Kamal Haasan has bagged another promising role. She has been roped in to play Sridevi’s step-daughter in Boney Kapoor’s film. Highly impressed with Akshara’s performance in yet to be released, ‘Shamitabh’, Boney has decided to cast Akshara for the role.

After casting son Arjun in ‘Tevar’, producer Boney Kapoor has announced his next project with wife Sridevi and he is busy in casting stars for his upcoming venture. The ambitious project is an emotional tale of a relationship between a step-mother and step-daughter.

Says a source, "Boney saw portions of Shamitabh and was convinced that this newcomer would be able to share screen space with his wife."

However, Akshara denied the news, saying, “You know when I read the news this morning I was like,’Oh really…Wow that’s awesome’. But we haven’t had any sort of discussion about it. Honestly, I have not had a single conversation about this project. I was actually taken aback because we haven’t spoken about it at all although I would be honoured to work with Sridevi ji.”

She further added, “I am glad you asked this question because I wanted to clarify about it.”

Sridevi who made her comeback with Gauri Shinde’s ‘English Vinglish’ will also be seen in Tamil film, ‘Puli’.
