Ajay Devgn walks out of Luv Ranjan’s film with Ranbir Kapoor

According to the latest grapevine, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has walked out of Luv Ranjan’s movie with Ranbir Kapoor and the director has shelved the movie.

According to Pinkvilla report, a source has been quoted as saying, “Ajay Devgn has taken his name out of the film. He opted out a few weeks ago and now, won’t be starring in the movie anymore. There were a few things that all of them couldn’t agree on and they thought it’s better to not take the discussion ahead anymore. The film was anyway getting pushed but after AJ’s exit, it seems the entire project has been derailed. Luv, on the other hand, has decided to keep this film on the backburner and concentrate on another film that he’s been planning to mount on for sometime now.”

Riding high on the success of ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’, earlier director Luv Ranjan captioned a picture with Ranbir and Ajay discussing the projects as# “Luv Ranjan's next to star Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor.”

While talking about working with Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn told Bombay Times, “Ranbir is an impeccable actor with a great ability to deliver nuanced performances. He is undeniably the most talented actor of his generation. I am looking forward to collaborating with him.”

Excited to work with Ajay, Ranbir said, “I have immense respect for Ajay sir and I’m excited about sharing the screen with him again. His body of work is inspiring. Luv and I have wanted to work with each other for some time now. I am sure this film will be a perfect start to our association.”

Casting two big stars in his film, director Luv Ranjan told to a daily, “Ajay and Ranbir’s spontaneity and versatility is electrifying and I am elated to be working with not one, but two powerhouse performers in my next film.”

Earlier, a source was quoted by Mumbai Mirror as saying, ”Luv has been working on the script for almost two years now. The first draft of the script is locked, and the film will go on the floors by the year-end. It is mounted on a huge budget. Once the final draft of the script is locked, Luv will go on a recce. After that, he will finalise a stunt team that will be a mix of Indian and international action directors.”

Deepika Padukone was in talk to play the female lead.

Earlier, Ranbir and Ajay Devgn co-starred in 2010's 'Rajneeti' directed by Prakash Jha.

The film was supposed to go on floor next year.
