Ajay Devgn unveils amazing ‘Drishyam’ poster on birthday

On 2nd April on the occasion of his birthday, actor Ajay Devgan was the one to give surprises! Ajay had reserved this special date for a special occasion. He took to Twitter for unveiling the logo of his upcoming ‘Drishyam’. The first look poster comes with a punchy tagline – “Visuals Can Be Deceptive”. Ajay tweeted along with the poster – “Lot of you cracked it, for those who couldn’t #Drishyam Visuals Can Be Deceptive-31 July 15”.

It was in February this year that Ajay was roped in for the Hindi remake of the popular Malayalam film ‘Drishyam’, that Nishikant Kamat is to direct. Then Tabu and Shriya Saran were signed as well. Tabu would be seen in the role of a cop, whereas Shriya would play the wife of Ajay Devgan. The shooting was commenced in March and the filmmakers have shot in Goa. In March itself Ajay was taken ill in the middle of shooting. But the dates for filming had already been fixed and there was no way that he could afford even a single leave!

A source reported – “He had been feeling sick for the last few days and his body temperature shot up over the weekend. It is also hot and sultry in Goa now. He has been popping pills and continuing with the shoot. There is no way he can fly back to Mumbai and take time off till he recovers as it is a combination date schedule.”

Before Ajay’s tweet on 2nd April, DrishyamTheFilm - the movie’s Twitter handle posted “@ajaydevgn has an illusion for us, all you got to do is crack it!” Accompanied by the tweet was a simple but gripping poster that said “Everything is not as it seems. Only true fan can shatter the illusion. Your hero is giving you a secret code”.

Adapted from the Malayalam ‘Drishyam’, this Hindi remake too is going to be a thriller. The Malayalam film featured Mohanlal and Meena as the lead stars. It had been immensely successful and had completed 10,000 shows in theaters- within just 26 days. It went on to become the highest grossing Mollywood film and made a whopping Rs 50 crores. It bagged Kerala State Film Award for Best Popular Film as well as Filmfare Award for Best Film – Malayalam.

Ajay had to make significant efforts to get the looks right for this film. Earlier, he had been focusing on getting a muscular body ‘Shivaay’. But now that it has been delayed, he is having to lose weight for ‘Drishyam’.
