Aishwarya’s manager undergoes skin grafting after suffering burn at Bachchans Diwali

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ex-manager Archana Sadanand, who is undergoing treatment at Nanavati hospital after she sustained 15 percent burns at Bachchans Diwali bash, has undergone skin grafting. Her lehenga caught fire from the diyas decoarted at the courtyard and before Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan could come to her rescue, Archana already suffered 15 percent burn.

Mid-Day has quoted a report as saying, "The patient has undergone skin grafting of the right lower limb (leg). Skin from the left leg was used for grafting yesterday [Friday]. The burn in the upper limb area is of first degree for which conservative treatment is being given. Archana is currently stable and will need to stay at the hospital for over a week,” the source said.

The surgery went for two-long hour. The source added, “Post the surgical procedure, Archana will remain immobile for a few days, as the graft needs to heal. The wound will be evaluated a week from now.”

Archana’s lehenga caught fire at the Bachchans courtyard. Aishwarya ripped off the burnt piece of clothing while Shahrukh Khan doused the fire with his jacket and sustained minor burns. Immediately, Archana Sadanand was rushed to the Nanavati hospital.

A source informed then, "Archana was with her daughter in the courtyard when her lehenga caught fire. Those around were stunned and didn't know what to do. Shah Rukh had the presence of mind, rushed to Archana, and put out the fire. He, too, sustained minor burns while dousing the flames with a jacket. His only thought was to put out the fire."

Sadanand is being treated by Dr Devyani B Venkat, a plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon. She has recently joined Nanavati after returning from the US. She is the daughter of renowned gastroenterologist Jayant Barve, who treats Bachchan Sr.

Archana Sadanand shares a great bond with the Bachchan family.
