Aishwarya to play beautician Shahnaz Husain in a biopic

As per the latest report, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was approached to play the role of noted beautician Shahnaz Husain in her biopic. Apart from Ash, Priyanka Chopra was also one of the top contenders for the film but the makers might have zeroed upon the ‘Jazbaa’ actress.  Director Puja Bedi first wanted Priyanka to play the role but the actress is too busy with her Hollywood commitments.

However, Kamlesh Pandey, who is scripting the film, affirms that Aishwarya was the first choice for the film. He said in an interview that two other actresses expressed their desire to be part of the project. "But we want the tehzeeb and adab of the character to reflect in the actor's DNA. The vocabulary certainly could not be that of the Facebook and Twitter generation. Aishwarya is perfect, keeping in mind all these prerequisites," he said.

Director Puja Bedi went to Aishwarya with the script and she is yet to give her nod, as per reports, even Shahnaz Husain wants Aishwarya to play her role.

Pandey, who penned the script of Aishwarya's comeback film ‘Jazbaa’, believes that the former beauty queen has lot of potential which Bollywood falied to discover yet. "Bollywood has been too preoccupied by Aishwarya Rai's beauty to challenge the actor in her," he said.
