Aishwarya Rai to do a special dance in Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who had worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansli in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Devdas’ and ‘Guzaarish’, might team up with the filmmaker for his upcoming film ‘Padmavati’. The period drama stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who too have joined Bhansali for the third time after ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela - Ram Leela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

Sources close to Bhansali have revealed that the maverick director wants Aishwarya to do a special dance in his magnum opus, according to a report in SpotboyE. ‘Padmavati’ rolled on floors on November 1.

The report further mentioned that the idea to bring in the beautiful actress for the film struck Bhansali when they were filming on the opulent sets of the movie in Mehboob Studios. He thought that Aishwarya will be the perfect fit for an elaborate special number in the film, and is keen to tie up with his old muse again, the source added.

However, the ‘Sarabjit’ actress is yet to be approached for the part. Bhansali had earlier approached Aishwaya for the special song ‘Ram Chahe Leela’ in ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela’, but eventually it went to Priyanka Chopra.

‘Padmavati’ is based on Rani Padmavati of Chittor and wife of king Rawal Ratan Singh. Sultan Alauddin Khilji was so besotted by her beauty and intellect that he attacked the kingdom to claim her. The movie is about Padmavati’s courage and sacrifice and how she saves her honour.

Deepika stars as Padmavati, while Ranveer plays the grey-shaded role of the Delhi Sultan. The film also stars Shahid Kapoor as Padmavati’s husband, and Aditi Rao Hydari as Alauddin Khilji’s wife Kamla Devi.
