Aishwarya Rai may have to make a personal visit to customs department

Ash’s recent film ‘Umrao Jaan’ did not receive an extremely appreciative response from the public and critics, although the makers of the film claim otherwise. And now the lass who is busy shooting for her period film ‘Jodha Akbar’ along with co-star Hrithik Roshan in Jaipur is already facing another problem with custom officials. Recently a package containing 23,000 $ (Rs 14 lakhs) euros was addressed and sent to Aishwarya Rai from Netherlands. The customs department took note of the parcel and its contents during a routine check and has sent notices to the actress to be present at the customs office for clarifications.
Ash however has claimed to have no knowledge of the parcel or the sender of the parcel. According to some sources the parcel containing the money may have been sent by one of Ash’s die-hard fans while some others claim the incident may have been done to taint the actress’s good image. However currently investigations are on and hence the consignee’s name has been withheld. On Wednesday, Ash’s father Krishnara Rai visited the customs department on behalf of his daughter Ash as she is currently busy shooting in Jaipur. Ash’s father was extremely co-operative with customs officials and answered all the queries put forth to him about the matter. Nonetheless Ash will in all probability also have to make an appearance to the customs department when she returns from her shoot.

According to some sources Ash has also been asked by the stamp duty department to provide details of all her previous endorsements for the past year. Looks like Ash has her hands full and has a lot of clarifications to make. Ash will soon be seen in Dhoom 2 and then in Guru , hopefully these two films will do much better at the box-office than her last film.
