Aishwarya, Abhishek visit cancer stricken Sonali Bendre

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan visited cancer stricken Sonali Bendre at her home. The star couple was spotted outside Sonali’s Juhu residence. This is Ash and Abhi’s first visit to Sonali after the latter returned from New York. Abhishek was on the driving seat and Aishwarya seated next to him.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was seen in all black outfit while Abhishek looked cool in a beige hooded jacket.

Apart from Ash-Abhi, close pals Gayatri Joshi and Suzanne Khan also visited Sonali after she returned to Mumbai. They were clicked outside Sonali’s Mumbai home. Gayatri was accompanied by her husband Vikas Oberoi. Sonali, Suzanne and Gayatri are thick friends and when Sonali was undergoing treatment in New York, they visited her and spend quality time with their sick friend. The pictures of their outing were also shared on social media. And now that Sonali is back home after beating cancer, Suzanne and Gayatri seemed very happy.

For the past couple of months, Sonali has been undergoing treatment for metastatic cancer and now she is back home but her battle against the dreaded disease is not yet over and the actress had to fly to New York periodically for check-up.

"Sonali is doing good. She is back for good. She is recovering very well. For now, treatment has ended. But the disease can come back so regular checkups will be done," Goldie Behl said.

Sonali announced her return via social media with a heartfelt note.

"They say 'Distance makes the heart grow fonder'. It sure does. But let's never underestimate what distance teaches you. Being away from home in the city of New York, I realised I was walking amongst so many stories. Each trying to write their own chapter in different ways. Each struggling to do it but never giving up. Each taking it one day at a time," Sonali wrotr.

She added: "I'm on my way back to where my heart is. It's a feeling I can't describe in words but I'm going to try - it's the joy to see my family and friends again, the excitement to do what I love and mainly the gratitude for the journey I've had up until this moment.

"The fight is not yet over... but I'm happy and looking forward to this happy interval."
