‘Deewar’ turns 40, Amitabh Bachchan calls it the ‘most perfect script’


Yesteryear blockbuster ‘Deewar’ completes 40 years and the megastar Amitabh Bachchan took the opportunity to thank the scriptwriters Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan for penning the most perfect script.

Big B goes down the memory lane as he remembers the iconic film, ‘Deewar’ released in 1975. ‘Deewar’ is to a great extent responsible for shaping up Big B’s career. The film went on become the blockbuster of the year. The dialogues are till date popular and people finds interesting to mouth them. Mere Pass maa hai, Uff tumhare usool, tumhare adarsh were among others.

Directed by late filmmaker, Yash Chopra, ‘Deewar’ stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor in the lead roles. They played contrasting brothers in the film. One takes up wrong path to earn money while the other is abide by the laws. The film cemented Amitabh Bachchan’s stand as Bollywood’s ‘angry young man’. Amitabh Bachchan was also nominated for the Best Actor Award that year.
