After 19 years, Aamir Khan’s brother Faisal Khan to make Bollywood comeback

After 19 years, Aamir Khan’s brother Faisal Khan is set to make Bollywood comeback, not as an actor but as a singer. He will lend his voice to a film, titled, ‘Factory’. He will crooned a romantic song, ‘Ishq Tera’ in the film.

Faisal is teaming up with director Sharique Minhai, with whom he has worked in 'Chand Bujh Gaya' and 'Chinar Daastaan-E-Ishq’ in the past.

Speaking about his comeback, Faisal Khan told Pinkvilla, " 'Factory' is my dream project. I was pleasantly surprised when my director Sharique Minhaj suggested that I should be singing this song. He insisted that my voice was required for this number and I had no qualms about singing at all. In fact, growing up in and around films and cinema, the ability to sing just came to me smoothly. Since 'Ishq Tera' is a soft, romantic track it was easy to croon. Having heard the final number, I feel quite proud."

Faisal was reportedly undergoing treatment for schizophrenia for many years. He had accused his brother Aamir of giving him wrong medicines and keeping him under house arrest and not letting him to do what he wants. He also run away to Pune but was brought back to Mumbai. He was eventually diagnosed with a mental disorder. Aamir and his father fought his custody battle.

In an interview to HT in 2008, he had said, “Frankly, I was never ill.. what has been said so far was speculative and spread by my elder brother Aamir Khan and other family members. In fact, I was kidnapped.. I was under house arrest, unwanted drugs were given to me. On the judgment day, judge saab announced that I’m not suffering from any illness.. and that I’m normal and capable of handling life on my own. I should be treated as a normal person.”

In February 2008, a Bandra court announced that Faisal need not be in anyone’s custody and could live anywhere he wanted to.

Faissal also spoke on how the industry is in a shifting phase, where content is winning the audience. He told Pinkvilla, "2018 was all about content. From Bollywood biggies to filmmakers, everyone in the industry is taking risks with good content films and the results are phenomenal" further adding "Factory is high on its content. The content of the film is powerful and attractive that will bring the masses to the cinema”.

Faisal, who looks very similar to his perfectionist brother, was last seen in 2000 movie ‘Mela’.
