Aditya Pancholi gets one year jail in assault case

Veteran actor Aditya Pancholi sentened one-year jail term for assaulting his neighbour. A local court convicted pancholi of assaulting his neighbour and he was sentenced one-year jail term.

"The local magistrate's court at suburban Andheri has convicted Pancholi for assaulting and criminal intimidation", a senior police official said. After conviction, the Magistrate Amitabh Panchbhai released Aditya Pancholi on the bail of Rs 12,000.

The incident dates back to 2005 when Aditya Pancholi entered into a brawl with his neighbour Pratik Pasrani and repotedly fratured his nose in their building.

The brawl took place due to parking space. Pancholi’s guest repotedly parked his car at Pasrani’s space at 'Magnum Opus' Apartments in suburban Versova. Pasrani raised objection to it and asked the security staff to get the vehicle out following which a quarrel broke out between Pasrani and Pancholi and the actor attacked Pasrani.

Intially, the police initially registered a non-cognizable case but when the medical examination revealed that Pasrani's nose was broken, police registered a case of serious hurt and criminal intimidation against the actor.

Expressing shock over the judgment, Mr. Pancholi told reporters outside the court, “It is a very harsh sentence. It is not like I was found involved in a terrorist activity or some bomb blast. I definitely will appeal against this order.”

This is not the first time Aditya Pancholi entered into a brawl with his neighbour. In 2013, Aditya was booked assaulting neighbour Bhargav Patel staying in the same society on Yari Road. He entered into a brawl for the same reason, parking area. He then punched Patel. The man filed a FIR against Aditya Pancholi.
