‘ADHM’ remains steady at box-office on 1st weekend
Karan Johar's directotial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is going steady at the box-office. The film registered the highest opening for its director.
The film earned Rs 13.30 crore on its opening day, but saw a slight dip on day two, i.e., Saturday and minted Rs. 13. 10 crore. Renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the two days total collection of ‘ADHM’ writing, “Taran Adarsh: #ADHM Fri 13.30 cr, Sat 13.10 cr. Total: ? 26.40 cr. India biz.”
Owing to Diwali celebrations, the film’s collection further dropped considerably of Sunday, bring in an amount of Rs. 9.25 crores (approx.), according to Koimoi.com. The final figures have not been revealed yet. With this, the first weekend collection of the movie is estimated to be around 35. 65 crore.
However, the film will witness better collection on weekdays as the festivities are over and there is no big release in the coming weekend.
‘ADHM’ has also opened well in overseas and has raked in Rs. 3.70 crore in UAE-GCC.
The film clashed with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’, and while both the films have been performing very well, ‘ADHM’ is ahead in the box-office race. ‘Shivaay’ has the most number of single screens, while ‘ADHM’ is being screened in multiplexes.
