Box-office: ADHM has slight upper hand over Shivaay after 10 days

The two big Diwali releases -Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’ have completed their 2nd weekend (10 days) at the box office. Both the films have been performing neck-and-neck, and are expected to remain steady in the second week as well, with no major films releasing last weekend.

‘ADHM’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, has been slightly ahead with a growth of 28.29 percent in its collections in the past week. The Ajay Devgn, Erika Kaar and Sayyeshaa Saigal starrer has also been maintaining a good pace and has shown a growth rate of 17.14 percent in its box-office returns.

Both the films will reach the Rs. 100 crore mark very soon. While Karan Johar’s romantic drama earned Rs 90.60 crore nett at the Indian box office by the end of second Saturday, action thriller ‘Shivaay’ raked in Rs 80.42 crore during the corresponding time. Both the films also brought in a decent amount on Sunday.

The day-wise collection of ‘ADHM’ is, opening Friday-Rs 13.30 crore, Saturday-Rs 13.10 crore, Sunday-Rs 9.20 crore, Monday-Rs 17.35 crore, Tuesday-Rs 13.03 crore, Wednesday-Rs 7.63 crore, Thursday-Rs 6.18 crore, Friday-Rs 4.56 crore, and Saturday-Rs 5.85 crore.

On the other hand, ‘Shivaay’ on its opening Friday collected Rs 10.24 crore, Saturday-Rs 10.06 crore, Sunday-Rs 8.26 crore, Monday-Rs 17.35 crore, Tuesday-Rs 11.05 crore, Wednesday-Rs 7.40 crore, Thursday-Rs 6.05 crore, Friday-Rs 4.61 crore, Saturday-Rs 5.40 crore.

According to early estimates, ‘ADHM’ witnessed a slight jump in collections on its 2nd Sunday over Saturday with Rs 6 crore (approx). Likewise, ‘Shivaay’ too earned Rs 5.75 crore (approx) on Sunday, little more that its Saturday collections. The final figures are yet to be out.
