Actress Mamta Kulkarni arrested in drug-trafficking

Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni was arrested along with her husband Vicky Goswami in drug-trafficking case in Kenya in a joint operation between Drug Enforcement Agency and Mombasa Police. The husband and the wife were questioned after being detained in Mombasa. Vicky was earlier involved in drugs dealing business.

Mamta who totally disappeared from the sight of the people was last seen in Dev Anand's Censor which released in 2001. As per report, Mamata converted into Islam and shifted to Nairobi after marriage.

Mamata’s husband Vicky Goswami was jailed and sentenced to life imprisonment in 1997 in Dubai. However, he was released in 2012, on the grounds that he had transformed into a better human being.

Last year, Kulkarni was in the news for turning into a spiritual devotee.

Kulkarni once reasoned for leaving Bollywood to an entertainment website by saying, “Some are born for cause of world … some are born as cause for God, I fall for latter part. So, the call to go to my actual cause of my existence was inevitable (sic).”

Mamata Kulkarni starred in movies like ‘Chinagate’, ‘Waqt Hamara Hai’ and ‘Karan Arjun’ 'Baazi' among others.
