Actress Himani Shivpuri booked for cheating producer

Veteran actress Himani Shivpuri, who is best known for her role in ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and many others including telly soaps was booked for allegedly cheating a film producer. An Indore-based film producer moved case against Himani Shivpuri on Tuesday.

The complaint says Himani Shivpuri entered into a contract with film director Mohammad Ali son of Gammu Baksh on March 23, 2011 for acting in his film. According to the contract, the producer hired the service of the actress for Rs 25 lakh and he made part payments of Rs 1 lakh, 1.5 lakh and 2.5 lakh over time to Himani Shivpuri in advance.

However, after sometime the actress backed out of the project. When the producer asked Himani Shivpuri to return the money, she threatened the film producer of dire consequences, if he constantly followed her and demanded the money back. Helpless Mohammad Ali then moved the court and lodged an FIR against the actress. Himani Shivpuri was booked under section 420, 506 and 294.
