Actor Kamlesh Pandey of 'Crime Patrol' fame commits suicide


Television actor Kamlesh Pandey, best known for his stint as a police officer in Sony TV series ‘Crime Patrol’ committed suicide at his home town in Jabalpur, Madhay Pradesh. The incident occurred on Monday night (December 12).

Kamlesh, a small-time actor, was in an inebriated state when he took his life by shooting himself in the chest. Reports suggested that an altercation with his relatives as the reason for the actor taking the extreme step.

According to reports, his wife's sister Anjani Chaturvedi had fixed her daughter's marriage and engagement without consulting him, and got her daughter married off without inviting Kamlesh. This irked the actor very much. He visited Anjani’s house in Sanjivini Nagar and hurled abuses at her and created a lot of ruckus after getting drunk. He later took out a revolver, shot in the air first and then shot himself in the chest. His family immediately called for ambulance and police, but by the time they arrived it was too late.

Police have recovered a pistol and a liquor bottle. They are treating it as a case of suicide, but a clearer picture will emerge after the post-mortem.

Kamlesh is survived by his wife and two children, a 15-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son.
