Actor Dileep’s restaurant vandalised in Kozhikode

After popular Malayalam actor Dileep was arrested, an angry mob vandalised a restaurant owned by the actor. The protestors, said to be activists of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), damaged the Dhe Puttu restaurant in Kozhikode co-owned by Dileep and Nadhirshah.

The incident took place late on Monday night, local media stated. The group of angry protestors completely damaged the property inside the restaurant and even damaged the sign boards. They smashed the glass panes and destroyed furniture inside the restaurant. The mob even burnt Dileep’s effigy and raised slogans against him.

Anticipating such trouble, police had already posted a few personnel at the spot, but even they couldn’t prevent the protestors from entering the restaurant and resorting to vandalism.

Dileep is currently lodged at a sub jail in Aluva, Cochin, following court orders in connection with the Malayalam actress kidnapping and assault case. Earlier, the police called Dileep on Monday morning for questioning and after a day-long session, they arrested him based on evidences found in their investigation.

Pulsar Suni, the prime accused in the case, had earlier said that big sharks will be arrested in this case, and with the arrest of Dileep, speculations are high that the many more big people might be arrested in the case. Dileep’s wife Kavya Madhavan is also speculated to be one of those people who might be arrested by the police.
