Ace shuttler Sania Nehwal wants to watch ‘ABCD 2’

Olympic champion Saina Nehwal has expressed her wish to watch Remo D’Souza’s soon-to-release film ‘ABCD 2’ as she feels the film has a patriotic theme.

Lead actor of the film Varun Dhawan said, “Saina Nehwal messaged me recently and told me she is looking forward to watching ABCD 2. She asked me if there is a theme of our country (in the film) and I told her yes it is there but we haven't shown it purposely because we wanted you to discover it.”

During a promotion of the film, the ‘Student of The Year’ actor also said the ‘ABCD 2’ team would be happy if Nehwal can feel “even a small bit of patriotism” out of the movie.

“Things like these make me feel like 'Oh this is the right film that is coming.' If a person like Saina Nehwal can feel even a small bit of patriotism out of a film like ABCD 2 that will mean a lot," the 28-year-old actor said.

Varun also mentioned his desire to show the film to his icon Hollywood action star Dwyane Johnson, better known as ‘The Rock’. “I would love to show the movie to him. He is doing an animated film for Disney so if we can, we surely will,” he said.

The ‘Badlapur’ actor had also tweeted birthday wishes to Dwyane on his birthday last month saying that he was his inspiration. The WWE wrestler-turned actor had thanked him on the micro-blogging site. ‘The Rock’ had also earlier wished Varun on his birthday on the request of his fans.

The 3D dance centric film also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhudheva, Lauren Gottlieb, Raghav Juyal and Dharmesh Yelande, among others. Cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu and stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma will also appear in cameo as themselves.

The film produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures, narrates the story of a group of boys and girls from the suburbs of Mumbai who travel to the vibrant city of Las Vegas for an international dance championship.

The sequel to the 2011 film ‘ABCD: Any Body Can Dance’ is releasing on June 19.
