Abhishek Bachchan reunites with J.P. Dutta for ‘Paltan’

Abhishek Bachchan, who made his Bollywood debut with J.P. Dutta’s film ‘Refugee’ in 2000, will be reuniting with the writer-director in his upcoming ‘PALTAN’, along with ‘Border’ actors Jackie Shroff and Suniel Shetty.

The junior Bachchan confirmed on Friday evening confirmed being a part of the movie by tweeting, “Brother to my left, brother to my right. Together we stand. Together we fight! I'm part of the PALTAN, are you? #jpdutta #JaiHind.”

He also shared the first look poster of the film that was unveiled a few days ago. Abhishek has also featured in J.P. Dutta’s last film ‘Umrao Jaan’ in which he starred opposite his wife Aishwarya Rai.

‘Paltan’ boasts of an ensemble cast which also includes Arjun Rampal, Pulkit Samrat, Sooraj Pancholi, Sonakshi Sinha’s one-film-old brother Luv Sinha and Shraddha Kapoor’s brother Siddhanth who will be soon seen in biopic ‘Haseena Parker’. The names of female cast aren’t known yet.

Luv Sinha had earlier played the lead role in 2010 film ‘Sadiyaan’, and proud sister Sonakshi Sinha took to Twitter to share the update of her brother’s second film. She wrote, “Woooo hooooo!!!! @LuvSinha is part of this #PALTAN... a film by the legendary JP Dutta sir! #proudsister.”

‘Paltan’ marks J.P. Dutta’s return to Bollywood after a gap of 11 years after directing ‘Umrao Jaan’ in 2006. The war drama will delve into another chapter of Indian history. “It’s time to tell a new story, to tell another part of history of our country and salute more real life heroes! I present ‘Paltan’, a film and a subject very close to my heart and I’m extremely excited about it,” the filmmaker had recently said in a statement.
