‘ABCD 2’ rocks box-office with 45 crore in the first weekend


Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘ABCD 2’ continue to rule box-office. After becoming the highest opener of 2015 with 14.30 crore, the film continued to dominate box-office. On Saturday, the film collected Rs. 14.51 crore, summing to Rs 28.81 crore in two days. The initial box-office record stunned everyone when it defeated Akshay Kumar starrer, ‘Gabbar Is Back’.

The film is expected to score well on the third day. Being Sunday, rush at the ticket counter was witnessed a bit higher compared to the initial two days. On Sunday, the film is expected to earn 15 crore, rounding its total weekend collection to Rs 45 crore.

If scored 45 crore in the opening weekend then ABCD 2, the sequel of the 2013’s ABCD (Any Body Can Dance) directed by Remo D’souza under the banner of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures would become the highest opening weekend for a Bollywood release this year.

Starring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Lauren Gottlieb and Prabhu Deva in the lead, the movie is based on an Indian dance troupe who makes big at the World Hip Hop Championship in Las Vegas.

The film opened with mixed reviews but the audience showered immense love on the script, dance and the team performance.

The well promoted film will surely continue to dance its way to the box-office in the coming days.
