Shocking: 'Ab Tak Chhappan' writer Ravishankar Alok commits suicide

Screenplay writer Ravishankar Alok committed suicide by jumping off from the roof of his building at Seven Bungalows area in Andheri (W) at around 2 PM.

The 32-year-old writer was involved in the screen writing of Nana Patekar starrer ‘Ab Tak Chhappan’. No suicide note was found near his body or in the house.

Ravishankar Alok was reportedly suffering from depression and was undergoing psychiatric treatment. The writer’s brother who live with him was not with him at that time.

A guard of the nearby building rushed to the spot on hearing the noise of the fall and on reaching he saw the writer in pool of blood. Ambulance was called immediately.

The society’s watchman said that Ravishankhar Alok’s parents are based in Patna and after spending few days with their sons, they left for Patna. He further informed that usually the terrace is kept locked but he don’t know how Alok entered the terrace.

Suburban Versova police is investigating the case. Deputy police commissioner (Zone 9) Paramjit Singh Dahiya said that an accidental death report was filed.
