Aamir’s brother Faisal Khan again in the spot light

After a long hiatus, Faisal Khan, brother of Aamir Khan, seems to be coming back in spot light. He will be appearing in a movie which will be directed by Sharique Minhaj and will be produced by Rajesh R Jain. The movie is based on an Urdu novel and is named ‘Chinar - A Leaf of Love’.

Jain confirmed the news and said, “We have already had out meetings with Faisal and have signed him. The film will roll next month.” Jain added, “My film will bring Faisal back in a big way. The film is a love story. We will start shooting from next month. The heroine is yet to be finalized.”

Faisal first appeared as a child actor in a couple of movies. Then he played small roles in his brother’s movies like ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ and ‘Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar’.

As a lead actor, he first appeared in 1994 released movie ‘Madhosh’. The movie was directed by Vikram Bhatt and was produced by his father Tahir Hussain. The movie turned out to be a flop at the box office. Then in 2000, he once again tried his luck by appearing in a movie alongside brother Aamir. They acted together in ‘Mela’. This movie also failed at the box office.

After this, Faisal acted in a few B-grade movies. He never got recognition. In 2003, Faisal thought of taking a flight from small screen and he acted in TV serial ‘Aandhi’. The serial was inspired by Rajesh Khanna starrer movie ‘Kati Patang’.

Then his health deteriorated and he underwent a treatment for schizophrenia. There was also a court case for Faisal’s custody between his brother, Aamir Khan and his father. His father won the case and he got Faisal’s custody.  Though Faisal’s father won the case of custody, Faisal chose to stay separately. He left his father’s house in Bandra and shifted to Chembur. Later, he again shifted to Bandra East.

After some time, Faisal patched up with his brother and came to stay at their Bandra house. Faisal started attending Aamir’s production house. Few reality show producers wanted to cast Faisal. ‘Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao’ producers had approached him to be a contestant at the show, which Faisal declined. Faisal later showed interest in season 2 of ‘Bigg Boss’ to appear as a contestant. But Aamir stopped him from appearing in the show as Aamir feared that his celebrity image might get tarnished.
