Aamir, Shahrukh, Salman's towel dance on ‘Aap ki Adalat’

India’s longest running talk show, ‘Aap ki Adalat’ celebrated its 21 years anniversary in a mega event on 2nd December, organized at the Pragati Maidan. The highlight of the show was definitely the three biggies of Bollywood, Shahrukh, Salman and Aamir performing the towel dance together.

The show hosted by Rajat Sharma has become so popular that it has almost attained a cult status in the Indian television. The impact of this show has reverberated in diverse fields, from the glamorous world of cricket and films in Mumbai to the power corridors of Delhi. Hence, a grand bash was planned to celebrate the completion of 21 years of the show.

President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Anna Hazare, Maulana Madani and Baba Ramdev were some of the eminent personalities present at the event. The film industry was well represented by Hema Malini, Rani Mukherji, Sonakshi Sinha, Shatrughan Sinha and Anil Kapoor. The cricket world was represented by Gautam Gambhir. One of the high points of the star studded program was the performances of Udit Narayan, Daler Mehndi and Sonu Nigam.

But what stood out even in such a glamorous program is the fact that the three Khans of Bollywood came together on the same platform to mark the occasion. This is the first time that such an event has occurred. The relation between the three Khans is known to be not very cordial. Though Salman and Shahrukh has starred together in three films, (‘Karan Arjun’, ‘Kuch kuch hota hai’, ‘Hum tumhare hain sanam’), and Aamir and Salman have worked together in ‘Andaaz apna apna’, their recent interactions have been few and far between.

The coolness had increased markedly after their bitter disagreement at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in 2008. Though the three were seen together at the premier of ‘3 idiots’ by Aamir, the ice had not melted. Amir had maintained cordial relations with the other two. So, the towel dance performed by the Khans of Bollywood naturally created a lot of interest. The three not only seemed to enjoy themselves but also planted a kiss on Rajat Sharma to celebrate the occasion.

Rajat Sharma took to twitter to thank those who made the show a grand success. "I thank viewers for making #AapKiAdalat longest running show ever on Indian Television #21YearsOfAapKiAdalat | @IndiaTV," he posted.
