Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ to clash with ‘Mohenjo Daro’, ‘Rustom’?

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is known to release his films around Christmas and his upcoming film ‘Dangal’ was also slated to release around Yule, 2016. However, recent buzz suggests that Mr. Perfectionist is considering to advance the release date of the sports biopic to Independence Day week.

In an interview yet to be aired, Aamir said that ‘Dangal’ is an emotional story and high on patriotism. Hence, releasing it in August on the occasion of Independence Day will be apt.

Aamir plays the role of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, father and coach of India’s women wrestlers Geeta and Babita. In the movie, he nurtures a dream of winning a gold medal for the country which his daughters fulfil for him.

The plot of ‘Dangal’ is peppered with emotion, drama, patriotism and also female empowerment. It is said that the ‘PK’ actor has already started working to pre-pone the release date.  “Since the movie is almost ready, doing so shouldn't be an issue. He feels that since the film strongly showcases love for the nation, it would be perfect to bring the movie out on Independence Day,” an insider was quoted as saying.

If the reports turn out to be true, then the Aamir Khan starrer will collide head-on with two other biggies - Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’ which are also slated to release around the same time. However, there has not been any official announcement in this regard yet.
