Aamir Khan to play the father of a dyslexic child in his next project

Like everything that Aamir Khan does, his next project too is touted to be different. Aamir Khan is known to be very selective about his work and only agrees to do a particular film, if he is completely convinced about the script and his character. Hence he must be really convinced about his next film, as he not only intends to act in the untitled film, but also intends to produce the film. This will only be his second production after his hit film Lagaan. In the film, Aamir will be seen playing the father to a young child who suffers from dyslexia.
The film will be written and directed by Amol Gupte who also happens to be Aamir’s good friend. Gupte seems to be a bit of an all rounder, apart from painting and writing for a living, he has also dabbled in acting. In fact Amol has also shared screen space with Aamir in the film ‘Holi’ in 1984. Writer Gupte says “In the film Aamir will play the protective father. My script is ready and I am in the process of figuring out the rest of the cast. Hopefully we will be able to start shooting in about a month’s time.” However Gupte is not a novice at direction and has already assisted Ketan Mehta during the making of his film Mirch Masala in 1985.

Gupte has been working on the script of this film for a long time now and he has also written scripts for more than 100 short films. He has also conducted many acting workshops at the Film and Television Institute in Pune. Well with so much of experience the writer must have definitely come up with a novel script, especially since he has managed to convince Aamir to act and produce the film. Aamir has worked with several unknown directors before like Rakeysh Mehra and Ashutosh Gowariker and ever since then; these directors have catapulted to success. Let’s wait and watch if Aamir’s magic works for Amol Gupte too.
