Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut dine with PM Narendra Modi

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and National Award winning actress Kangana Ranaut attended a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday night, February 13. The private dinner was held at Turf Club in Mumbai.

The ‘PK’ actor was seen in a black pathani kurta with a red pocket square, while the ‘Queen’ actress was wearing floral dress with a band on her head. The two actors were spotted when they were leaving the venue after dinner.

The high-profile event was strictly a no-media affair and was attended by top politicians, diplomats from several countries and business tycoons. The dinner was organised after the Prime Minister inaugurated the Make in India week, a multi-sectoral exhibition to showcase India's manufacturing capabilities, at the Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai.

In November last year, Aamir kicked up a storm with his remarks on ‘intolerance’. The superstar said that he was “alarmed” at the growing incidents of intolerance and that his wife Kiran Rao even suggested leaving the country. The actor was severly criticised by several political leaders of the ruling BJP.

The actor was also replaced with Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra as the brand ambassador of Incredible India campaign. His contract had ended and the Ministry of Tourism did not renew it with him.

On the work front, Aamir is shooting for his upcoming film ‘Dangal’, a biopic on wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who is also the father and coach of India’s women wrestlers Geeta and Babita. ‘Dangal’ starring Rajkumar Rao in an important role is slated to release on the occasion of Christmas 2016.

Kangana is also busy with Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’ which also stars Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
