Aamir Khan begins shooting for ‘Dangal’; shares look test

Aamir Khan has begun shooting for his upcoming biographical film ‘Dangal’ where he will be seen in the role of a wrestler. After the release of his blockbuster ‘PK’, Aamir had not taken up any other film in order to prepare himself for the role in ‘Dangal’.

Celebrity photographer Avinash Gowarikar who did the look test shared the picture on Twitter. “Shot #Dangal look test [email protected]_khan today. @niteshtiwari22 looks on. Something out of the box from Aamir again!” he posted along with the image of the first look test.

Aamir has trained hard taking lessons in wrestling, followed strict diet plans, did work-outs and gained weight upto 90 kg. He has also learnt Haryanvi language.

The actor will essay the role of Haryana wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who is the father and coach of India’s women wrestlers Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari Phogat. 

Actress Sakshi Tanwar will play the role of his wife in the film while newbies Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra will play the couple’s daughters Geeta and Babita respectively. Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar will play the younger versions of the daughters. Rajkummar Rao will also feature in the film.

The film will be shot extensively in Punjab and Haryana. The team will also be shooting in Ludhiana’s Kila Raipur where Rural Olympics are held each year.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Dangal’ is slated to release on December 23, 2016.
