Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao in Arunachal for a quite getaway

Days after hosting a Diwali party, Aamir Khan has taken off to the hills of Arunachal Pradesh to ring in wife Kiran Rao’s 43rd birthday on November 7. They will also be attending the three-day the Mechuka Adventure Festival to be held from Nov 7-9.

Aamir and Kiran, along with their 4-year-old son Azad Rao Khan took off on Monday night and reached the state on Wednesday. It is going to be a short vacation of sorts for the family before the actor gets busy with the full-fledged promotions of his upcoming film ‘Dangal’.

Aamir took to Twitter on Thursday night to share a beautiful selfie of him and Kiran in the backdrop of a river and mountains of the scenic location. He captioned the picture, “In the wilderness of Arunachal. It’s a really beautiful place.”

The two seems to be enjoying natural beauty of the state, away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai.

This is not their first visit to the North East. Earlier in 2013, the couple celebrated Kiran’s 40th birthday at a private resort inside Nameri National Park in Assam’s Sonitpur district. They were also accompanied by a few close friends from the industry, including filmmakers Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji, and music composer Salim Merchant. They had also visited the Kaziranga National Park then.

Aamir is a perfectionist and always has everything planned out. DNA quoted a source as saying, “Aamir takes effort in research, planning and execution and keeps all details under wraps as he is extremely romantic at heart. Permits are required for entering into any place in Arunachal Pradesh and Aamir has arranged for all of that. Everything has been meticulously planned by him. They will roam around the state, where there is no network or access to phones, so they are completely cut off from civilisation. Both Aamir and Kiran are romantics and prefer the seclusion during this special time.”
