Aamir finally finds his daughters for ‘Dangal’

The much-talked about film ‘Dangal’ starring Aamir Khan has roped in two more girls to be cast in the biographical sports movie.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Dangal’ is based on the real life story of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who is father and coach of Indian women wrestlers Geeta and Babita Kumari Phogat.

“Dangal is not just a film about wrestling but an emotional journey of a father and his two daughters, which teaches us to empower our girls,” the ‘PK’ star had said in an interview earlier.

While two girls, Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra, were earlier finalised to play the roles of Geeta and Babita, two more young actors have been roped in to play the childhood roles of the wrestler siblings.

The makers revealed the names of the two other girls as Zaira Wasim from Kashmir and Suhani Bhatnagar from Delhi who would be playing the younger versions of Geeta and Babita in ‘Dangal’.

Aamir who plays the role of former wrestler Mahavir, will also play the father of the four girls. All of them, along with Aamir are already undergoing training for the film, following different diet plans and work-out routine.

The makers of the film have been on the look-out for suitable casts since early this year. They wanted to cast new faces and have taken hundreds of auditions for the roles before zeroing on the two.

Actor for the role of Aamir's wife in the movie is yet to be finalised. It is known that ‘Dirty Politics’ actor Mallika Sherawat has auditioned for the role.

The film is set to go on the floors in September this year.
