63rd Jio Filmfare Awards 2018: Vidya Balan, Irrfan Khan, Newton win big


The 63rd Jio Filmfare Awards 2018 was a gala event. Apart from award distributing ceremony, the event saw many sizzling performances from the stars. Fashion was galore at the award ceremony. Celebrities were dressed in their best attire and over-all it was a fun-filled night. Superstar Shahrukh Khan hosted the gala event.

From Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Manushi Chhillar, Akshay Kumar, Rajkummar Rao to Vidya Balan, many more stars came together under the same roof. 

Miss World Manushi Chhillar sizzled in red gown. Rajkummar Rao made entry with actress and girlfriend Patralekaa.

Preity Zinta looks ravishing in a peach coloured gown.

Dia Mirza looked gorgeous in a grey gown. 

Vidya Balan looked gorgeous in a black saree, twinning with husband Sidharth Roy Kapur. Evelyn Sharma looked beautiful in a traditional attire.

Talking about the men -- Shahrukh Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Karan Singh Grover and Ranbir Kapoor nailed their handsome look.

Vidya Balan bagged the best actress award for ‘Tumhari Sulu’. She received the award from her most favorite and evergreen beauty Rekha. While Irrfan Khan, who starred in 'Hindi Medium' and 'Qarib Qarib Singlle' in 2017, won the Filmfare Best Actor Award in Leading Role (Male).

Konkona Sen Sharma bagged the Best Debut Director Award for 'A Death In The Gunj'. Receiving the award from Jaya Bachchan and Sonali Bendre, Konkona said, "Thank you so much... It's unbelievable. I would like to thank Jio Filmfare. I would like to extend my biggest thank you to my team."

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari won the Best Director Award for ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’.

Amit V. Masurkar bagged the Best Original Story Award for ‘Newton’. ‘Newton’ also won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Film. ‘Hindi Medium’ won the Best Film (popular) Award.

Jackie Shroff won the Best Actor in Short Film Award for ‘Khujli’ while Neeraj Ghaywan won the Best Short Film Award for ‘Juice’.

Arijit Singh won the best plyback singer (male) for ‘Roke Na Ruke Naina’ from ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’  while Meghna Mishra won the Best Playback Singer (Female) Award for ‘Nachdi Phira’ from ‘Secret Superstar’.

Veteran singer Bappi Lahiri won the Jio Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. Actress Vidya Balan, who handed over the award to the music legend said, "It's a very special moment for me. Bappi has given the most successful song of my career."

After receiving the award, the music composer said: "Thank you Jio Filmfare. I am very happy. I would like to dedicate it to my parents, wife and my full family. It's a hard work of 46 years."

63rd Jio Filmfare Awards 2018 will also be aired on Colors TV.
