2 States: Arjun Kapoor romances Alia Bhatt in 'Mast Magan'

A new song from the movie ‘2 States’ is out, which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name and is said to be inspired by the author’s romantic journey.

This song ‘Mast Magan’ is a total romantic number and has a sufi touch to it.

Reportedly, after watching the song, Chetan Bhagat tweeted, “Don’t know why, but this song made me cry when I watched it. The gorgeous ‘Mast Magan’ video from ‘2 States’.”

Following the two songs ‘Offo’ and ‘Locha-e-Ulfat’, the lead pair Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor have continued with their charming chemistry in the track ‘Mast Magan’, which is sung by by Arijit Singh and Chinmayi Sripada. The wonderful composition of ‘Mast Magan’ is sure to make one fall in love all over again.

In the video of the song, Alia Bhatt appears in traditional South Indian clothes and she has carried it off in a charming way.

The movie is a love story of a couple Krish Malhotra played by Arjun Kapoor and Ananya Swaminathan played by Alia Bhatt. They meet at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and during this, fall in love with each other. Troubles brew after the couple take a decision to get married, because Krish and Ananya come from different states of the country, and have totally different backgrounds. Krish is from Delhi and happens to be from a Punjabi household, while Ananya is from a Tamil Brahmin family from Chennai. The couple decides to get married only after their respective parents allow them to. Chaos follows when the couples’ parents meet. The clash of cultures becomes the main obstacle in front of them, which Krish and Ananya have to brave to end up together.

‘2 States’ is directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar. The music is by the hit trio – Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy.

The movie is slated to release in theatres across the country on April 18.

Alia Bhatt made her acting debut with Karan Johar’s romantic comedy ‘Student of the Year’ in 2012.

Arjun Kapoor made his acting debut in Habib Faisal’s romantic drama ‘Ishaqzaade’ in 2013.
