Kaabil’ is a revenge thriller starring Hrithik Roshan, Yami Gautam, Rohit Roy, Ronit Roy and Narendra Jha. Model-actress Urvashi Rautela also makes a special appearance in a song. It has been directed by Sanjay Gupta and produced by Rakesh Roshan. The movie is set to hit screens on January 25.

Rajesh Roshan has composed the music, while various lyricists have come on board to pen the songs. With a total of six tracks, including a sad version of the title song, ‘Kaabil’ album is out under the label T-Series.

Kaabil Hoon: The title song is a soft romantic number in the melodious voice of Jubin Nautiyal and Palak Muchhal. The trumpet music in the arrangement sounds nice. The lyrics by Nasir Faraaz are in tune with the lead pair in the film.

Kaabil Hoon (Sad version): The sad version of the song is much slower in pace and is sung solo by Jubin Nautiyal. He tries to bring the pain in his voice. Nasir Faraaz’s lyrics are also effective.

Haseeno Ka Deewana: This is a recreated version of the classic song ‘Saara Zamaana’ from Amitabh’s 1981 film ‘Yaarana’. The original song was rendered by Kishore Kumar and penned by Anjaan. The new version has been sung by Payal Dev and features a rap portion by Raftaar. The additional lyrics have been penned by Kumaar. The musical arrangement has been done by Gourov-Roshin, while maintaining Rakesh Roshan’s original tune.

Kuch Din: This is another love song rendered by Jubin Nautiyal. Manoj Muntashir’s lyrics are lovely and the composition is simple, sweet and smooth.

Mon Amour: ‘Mon amour’ is a French term which means ‘My love’ in English. The song begins on the lines of a soft romantic number with guitar strums, but soon veers into another path which is peppy, foot-tapping and cheerful. Vishal Dadlani has lent his vocals to the feel-good number, while Manoj Muntashir has penned the lyrics.

Kisi Se Pyar Ho Jaaye: Composer Rajesh Roshan brings back another of his chartbuster song, the iconic romantic track ‘Dil Kya Kare’ from 1975 film ‘Julie’. Gourov-Roshin has recreated the song, while Kumaar has written the additional lyrics, and Jubin Nautiyal gets to sing it.

Overall, ‘Kaabil’ songs are sweet and simple and has Rajesh Roshan’s stamp all over it. The compositions are similar to his previous music, but has a contemporary packaging.
