Badrinath Ki Dulhania

Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead is a romantic comedy directed by Shashank Khaitan. The film is slated to hit theatres on March 10. The music for the film has been composed by Amaal Mallik, Tanishk Bagchi and Akhil Sachdeva while the lyrics have been written by Kumaar, Shabbir Ahmed, Akhil Sachdeva and Badshah. Consisting of total five songs, the music album has been released under T-Series.

Aashiq Surrender Hua: This peppy and energetic track has been composed by Amaal Mallik, who also sings it with Shreya Ghoshal. With abundant drum-beats, the song gives a feel of the setting of the film, i.e. Uttar Pradesh and is reminiscent of ‘Main toh raste se jaa raha tha’ from Govinda’s ‘Coolie No. 1’ film. The lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed are also funky.

Roke Na Ruke Naina: It is a love ballad rendered by the melodious Arijit Singh and the arrangement by Amaal Mallik strikes a chord. The lyrics by Kumaar are lovely and speaks about the feelings of missing a loved one.

Humsafar: This is another soft romantic number written, composed and sung by Akhil Sachdeva. His vocals have a Atif Aslam-like twang. Mansheel Gujral renders the opening verses and her lines can be heard in the middle and end also. The lyrics are nice as well.

Badri Ki Dulhania (Title Song): The title song of the movie is an energetic number penned by Shabbir Ahmed around the theme of Holi festival. He has also added a few English terms making it funky. Tanishk Bagchi has composed it with the hookline being recreated from the popular song ‘Chalat musafir moh liya re...’ from 1966 film ‘Teesri Kasam’, originally sung by Manna Dey. Dev Negi, Neha Kakkar and Monali Thakur have lent their vocals, while Ikka pitches in for rap portions.

Tamma Tamma Again: This is a recreated version of the chartbuster ‘Tamma Tamma Loge’ from 1990 film ‘Thanedaar’. The song was originally penned by Indeevar and sung by Bappi Lahiri and Anuradha Paudwal. Tanishk Bagchi has recreated the music on the original song along with the singers, while Badshah has written and sung the additional rap portion.

The soundtrack of ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ is short and sweat. The title track and ‘Tamma Tamma Again’ are already a rage.
